Intensive Overview

Design Educator Typography Intensive [DETI] DEEP DIVE / July 9 & 16, August 6 & 13

DETI Deep Dive will consist of intensive and intimate one-day virtual classrooms, limited to 25 participants each, focused on teaching both basic and new applications of typography. The program was developed for all university-level educators and graduate students. Keynotes are open to the general public with an avid interest in the future of typography and its continuing impact on all communications media. Attendees will be exposed to new pedagogies to take back to their classrooms while participating in a real-time classroom setting.

Renowned designers and educators will generously share their expertise during the four webinar instruction days open to all university-level instructors.

Keynote presentation video recordings will be publicly available. Video recordings of class sessions will be available to participants as part of their registration.

Keynotes are free and open to the public. Classroom sessions are $100 each, or $150 for both in a single day. Four Fridays of classroom access (eight sessions) can be purchased for $500.

HMCT DETI is made possible by Google, Lowell Milken Family Foundation, and ArtCenter College of Design.

Badges are awarded to registered attendees who complete a minimum of two days of classroom participation. Click on each badge image above for more detailed information and fulfillment requirements.

Personalized certificates of attendance (as downloadable PDFs) are available to participants who attend individual classrooms. These are conferred by the ArtCenter Provost and HMCT Executive Director. Attendees may request their certificate(s) at the conclusion of the classes.
